Sheri D. Sensabaugh

Sheri Sensabaugh is President and founder of ACT Personnel Services, Incorporated, a multimillion dollar staffing services company whose specialty is placing accounting, clerical and technical personnel on a temporary and full-time basis. Sheri graduated from Parkersburg High School, Parkersburg, WV, in 1972, received her Associates Degree, with Honors, from Scottsdale Community College, Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1975 and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Arizona State University in 1979. Sheri opened her independent staffing company in Huntsville, Alabama in 1988, her second office was opened in LaVale, Maryland in 1991 and a third office was opened in Oakland, Maryland in 1999. Sheri began her career in 1983 at the placement desk of Accountants Overload, Accountants Unlimited in Los Angeles, California and now has over ten years experience as an entrepreneur.

Sheri currently is an active member of Allegany County Chamber of Commerce's Education Committee; she is a graduate of Leadership Allegany's inaugural class and is serving a two-year term as Chairman for Leadership Allegany's steering committee. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Allegany Arts Council, is a member of the Keystone Financial Bank, N.A., Business Development Board, she serves as Co-Chairman of the Small Business Advisory Board for Governor Parris Glendening's Western Maryland Economic Development Task Force, has served on the Board of Directors of the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for Family Services (a United Way Agency), the Credential Review Board for the Huntsville Rehabilitation Center, and has served as the Vice-President of the Small Business Development Committee for the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce.

Being an advocate of women in business Sheri has participated in the U.S. Small Business Administrations' National program, Women's Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET), is a co-founder, charter member and past Vice-President of the Women's Economic Development Council (WEDC) of North Alabama and is a past Conference Chairwoman and Art Committee Chairwoman for the Tennessee Valley Women's Conference (TVWC).

Sheri is an active member of the communities she serves. Sheri was chosen to address a national audience on behalf of Act's successful transitioning of local welfare recipients into the workforce during Vice President Al Gore's 1998 "Welfare to Work Coalition to Sustain Success" meeting at the White House. She was nominated as Small Business Executive of the Year, 1991, by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, recognized for outstanding contributions from the March of Dimes Foundation and was twice presented the Employer-of-the-Year Award, Small Business, in appreciation for exceptional contributions in furthering employment opportunities for people with disabilities, by the Huntsville Area Committee of the Alabama Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. ACT Personnel Service is an advocate of public education and is currently administering an educational planning enhancement program they successfully piloted for the Allegany County School System through ACT's Preparing Youth for Industry (PYI) program. This program was awarded first place in its category for the National Association of Temporary and Staffing Services at the association's 1998 national convention in Palm Springs, California.

Sheri is a professional member in good standing of the American Staffing Association (ASA), the Alabama Association of Temporary Services (AATS), the Maryland Association of Temporary Services (MATS), and the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is listed as an Honored Professional in the 1995-1996 Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. She is an advocate for and a member of many organizations that invest in women, youth, small business, and the community.
